Hi I’m Yi, a wedding photographer who runs on lattes, laughs, and a love for capturing real moments that tell your story.

Originally from the vibrant city of Hong Kong, I now call the peaceful American suburbs home, where I can focus on what truly matters: noticing and celebrating life’s quiet, beautiful moments.

My journey in photography began in 2009, when I married my soulmate. Seeing our wedding photos opened my eyes to the incredible way images can capture the emotion, joy, and story of life’s moments. That experience sparked a passion that has shaped the way I see the world ever since.

Since 2014, I’ve had the privilege of photographing weddings. For me, it’s never just about documenting an event, it’s about witnessing two people start their journey together and capturing the moments that define their love. Every wedding is a chance to freeze time and create memories my clients can cherish forever.

I see weddings as more than just a celebration. They are a chance to share your love story with the people who matter most, to create memories that will bring smiles and joy for years to come. My approach is to capture both the beauty of your day and the candid, in-between moments that truly tell your story.

To create images that feel personal and authentic, I love learning about my clients, their favorite hobbies, the music that moves them, their go-to Netflix shows, and the little things that make them who they are. I’m fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, and no matter the language, my goal is to make the experience easy, comfortable, and fun. When you’re fully present in the moment, the emotion unfolds naturally, and the emotion I capture becomes Yimotion.
